The route from Košice to Bratislava once again offered runners an unforgettable adventure
On Sunday, June 9, 2024, more than 1,100 runners reached the finish line, who ran the route from Košice to Bratislava for 3 days during the NATIONAL RELAY RUN, VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA 2024. Big congratulations and respect to every team that accepted the challenge and together ran the 529 km long route across our beautiful Slovakia. They once again proved to all of us that if we have perseverance, determination and the right people around us, we can do the almost impossible.
Everyone who reached the finish line of VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA 2024 on Sunday is a winner. Some did it faster than others. We awarded them in individual competition categories.
Stellantis run team won the Marathon FULL category again and improved their time by a respectable 27 minutes and achieved an average pace of 4:32 min/km. With a pace of 4:37 min/km, the Novohradský rockets also managed to maintain the second position, and the third place in the category was won by the POLTRADE Run Team this year with a pace of 4:40 min/km. This is the main category with the highest difficulty, where each runner runs the distance of a marathon over three days. In the slightly less demanding FREESTYLE FULL category, the first place was won by the N.T.P.T.M. team. and years later they set the tone for Torn Wagons, which took a nice second place ahead of the SchwarzWald team. Team N.T.P.T.M. with a pace of 04:09 he also broke the track record. Last but not least, congratulations to the all-female teams in the dm LADIES RUN category, who did not let themselves be embarrassed and performed amazingly on the track. The first place was won by the runners from the SK DETVA V HYBE PRE SVETELKO NADEJE team with a beautiful time of 44:44:45 and an average pace of 05:04 min/km.
We believe that victory fills teams with pride, happiness and determination to overcome further challenges.

Runners not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Poland, Hungary, Austria, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Republic of South Africa, Chile, Japan, South Korea, or the USA. The interest of runners from abroad is only proof that VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA, NATIONAL RELAY RUN, KOŠICE - BRATISLAVA is an excellent way to discover and get to know Slovakia from east to west on your own feet.

Also this year, a hundred children came to enjoy the atmosphere of VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA 2024 to love movement and special running by participating in KIDS RUN 2024 in Košice, Teplička nad Váhom and Bratislava. The team of the Markíza Television Foundation, whose initiative Every kilometer counts, was supported by VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA together with PEPCO Slovakia with the sum of EUR 10,000. We are also very happy that as part of the media partnership with RTVS, the NATIONAL RELAY RUN was able to support the initiative of Radio Slovakia under the name Slovakia Slovakia, namely one of the families on the route from Košice to Bratislava and help them alleviate the difficult life situation in which they found themselves.
Handovers in villages and towns were again a real experience
Very nice moments could be experienced at almost every relay, where cities and towns prepared refreshments and various accompanying activities for the runners. At VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA 2024, runners again enjoyed accompanying activities, massages from professional physiotherapists, a performance by the talented Slovak pop singer Tajča Gali, KIDS RUN 2024 children's runs with the support of PEPCO, or relaxing in the Red Bull chill out zone with a DJ.
Runs for a good cause and the satisfaction of the organizers
How does event director Dušan Tarčák evaluate the year 2024? "We have completed the seventh year of VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA, NATIONAL RELAY RUN KOŠICE - BRATISLAVA, and I am very happy that we were able to organize it in a very high quality in terms of organization and the process itself. I am also very pleased that every year we can count on a very broad base of volunteers who participate in the organization, whether during the year or during the event itself. This year we again saw an increase in the participation of runners. 1182 runners in 87 teams took part in the event, and we also noticed an increase in interest from foreign participants. Dare I say, our event was included among the important domestic and European sports events for recreational athletes. We believe that, despite this, the event still retains its intimate, friendly, even family atmosphere. We thank everyone for their support and we are already looking forward to the next edition of the VOLVO RUN SLOVAKIA 2025 – NATIONAL RELAY RUN KOŠICE – BRATISLAVA, which will take place from June 6 to 8, 2025.”
